The beginning of the golden era of Saint-Tropez
The passage of Maupassant, the installation of Colette at “La Treille muscate”, the arrival of Signac who led Matisse and Bonnard to follow him, marked the beginning of the golden age for Saint-Tropez.
From the 1950s onwards, the myth was accentuated with the arrival of Brigitte Bardot and Françoise Sagan.
The village then became and still remains one of the favourite places of the international jet set.
